Mission and projects:
FOWA is a visionary initiative dedicated to preparing Africa’s workforce for a rapidly evolving job market. We focus on skills development, innovation, entrepreneurship, and policy advocacy to build a resilient, inclusive, and future-ready workforce.
FOWA is headquartered in Ghana, where we launched our pilot programs. Our long-term vision is to scale our impact across Africa, working with regional partners to drive workforce transformation.
Participation & Volunteering:
Our programs are open to young people, students, early-career professionals, aspiring entrepreneurs, and anyone interested in upskilling or adapting to new work realities. Eligibility criteria vary by program and are clearly outlined in each announcement.
You can join FOWA as a volunteer by signing up through our website. Volunteers support program delivery, mentorship, event coordination, content development, and community outreach.
Partnerships & Organisations:
Organizations can engage with FOWA through partnerships, joint programs, internship placements, sponsorships, and co-hosted events. We welcome collaboration with companies, development partners, training institutions, and NGOs.
Absolutely. We work with universities, technical universities, TVET institutions, and training centers to co-create programs that align with emerging industry needs and promote hands-on learning.
Programs & Training:
FOWA provides training in areas such as digital literacy, artificial intelligence, robotics, green skills, entrepreneurship, and leadership. We offer workshops, bootcamps, certifications, and mentorships both in-person and online.
Many of our programs are free or subsidized thanks to our partners and sponsors. Some advanced or specialized courses may have a cost component, which will be clearly communicated in the application process.
Policy & Advocacy:
We engage policymakers through evidence-based research, technical consultations, and multi-stakeholder dialogues. Our aim is to support the creation of inclusive and forward-looking policies that promote sustainable job creation and skills development.
Events:
FOWA organizes skills development workshops, digital bootcamps, leadership and innovation summits, policy forums, and youth engagement events. These bring together diverse actors to shape conversations and actions around the future of work in Africa.
